Although PersonalQuest attempts to get rid of profiles of spammers and scammers, there is no substitute for your own vigilance. Anyone can create a fake profile. If you see a profile that you believe is a spammer or scammer, report them immediately by clicking on the on their profile. We will investigate and ban them from the site if necessary.

2. Be Careful With Your Personal Information

Never include your last name, email address, home address, phone number, place of work or any other identifying information on your profile or initial e-mail messages. Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information or attempts in any way to trick you into revealing it.

3. Don't Send Money

Never give money to someone you have never met no matter how much you think they love you. If they have never met you and they are asking for money, they do not love you. One of the most common scams is having someone "fall in love with you" and then asking you to send money so they can come and visit you.

4. Meet In A Public Place

If you choose to have a face-to-face meeting with another member, always tell a friend or family member where you are going and when you will return. Never agree to be picked up at your home for an initial meeting. Always provide your own transportation to and from your date and meet in a public place with many people around.

5. Encourage Other Members to Get Background Checks

Once they've completed this check a "badge" appears on their profile that verifies their identity to other members. Although this is not a fail-safe solution and will not expose someone with no previous criminal record who uses their real identity, it will protect you from many scammers who falsify their identities.
